My beach

Our beach is very beautiful . It is  a popular attraction for tourist from all around Brazil for recreation. Santos people and tourists alike use beaches as a place for leisure and sport. The waves present at beaches add to the enjoyment and make the sport of body surfing. One of the great  attractions of a sand beach, especially for children, is playing with the sand, building sand castles.

Our beaches are separated  by  "canals". In Santos, there are seven"different "canals" (it goes from 1 to seven - we call them by numbers). On the weekends I use to walk along the beach near the shore line, where the sand is wet  and  more convenient to walk on.

Unfortunately,  the water quality in our beach is not as good as should be. It happens due to intense use by the expanding human population as well as for waste and litter caused by our Harbour's operations.  However, our city  and state authorities have been worked together to change that reality and make our beach a beautiful and a safe place to be. And we, the Sandwatchers, are gonna follow it up and making sure everyone will respect and protect our beach, our environment.

We  already can see the results of the good work our city  government  has done to protect our beach: the water quality  is much  better now than it was before. There were times when the water was so dark that  we couldn't even get into it. We would go to the beach just for a walk or to play any sport on the sand.  But for me, "beach" is not a BEACH without a cleaning water and a cleaning sand.
