Sunny
greetings from the Cayman Islands!
The National
Trust for the Cayman Islands is a non-profit organization charged
with a mission: “To preserve natural environments and places of
historic significance in the Cayman Islands for present and future
generations.”
This outpost
in the Northwest Caribbean is world renown for its white, sandy
beaches and its dedication to restoring our turtle nesting
populations to historic levels.
Over the
next several months, our goal is to participate in activities that
provide all schools with age-appropriate, experiential learning and
sustainable practices that promote conservation of natural
resources. Since the passing of Hurricane Ivan in 2004, we have a
greater appreciation of the significant role beaches play in our
ecosystem and have taken measures to ensure that the shoreline is
protected against erosion |
