Sandwatch has started
in two coastal villages in Mauritius, Flic en Flac is a tourism centre on
the west coast of the island, and Le Morne a fishing village at the
southwest tip of the island. |

Community members, children and youth are learning about their
beaches and how they are changing over time. Beach erosion is a
serious problem at these two villages. The impacts of climate
change are an important part of the activities. Sharing
information and encouraging energy conservation are among the
activities which will also include beach micro projects.
