( Hello ) Sandwatchers
I’m
so happy to get opportunity to communicate between our schools! My
name is Khalfan Mwita Hassan and I am the biology teacher at Chukwani
school. I have been very interested in communicating with different
schools all over the world for a long time but it is difficult to find
partners.
My nation is Tanzania. Tanzania was built by two countries,
Tanganyika and Zanzibar in 1964. Both countries united together to form
the United Republic of Tanzania, even the word Tanzania is composed of
parts of the two original countries.
We
live in Zanzibar, which is a Portuguese name.
Zanzibar is small island found in the Indian Ocean lies of the
coast of East Africa.
There are two main islands, Pemba and Unguja but normally when you say
Zanzibar you mean Unguja because is the capital city of Zanzibar.
Most of Zanzibarians are Muslim this is due to the impact of Arabs
who were our rulers before we became a British colony.
My school
name is Chukwani School and it is about 5km from Zanzibar town.
We have about 1111 students of both boys and girls.
My students were very interest to work with you on coral reefs and
other environmental projects with you as soon as possible.
